Finding Strength in Fear

A Message from the Owner - October 2025

Greetings, my Bear family and friends,

On this beautiful October day, I’m reminded how alive our planet is!

Changing colors, bears eating as much as they can to hibernate, and the planet providing what we need.

Our Creator is so good! All of our healing is here: the plants, our breath, our practices, and yes, massage therapy! (even scary bears like a good rub!)

The power of touch is incredible. In a world facing so much fear, stress, and a loneliness epidemic, finding community matters more than ever!

Sometimes a simple, genuine bear hug can ease fear and pain enough to carry us through another day.

I actually have a lot of fear. I fear not giving my son everything he needs as an autistic young man. I fear my business not surviving. I fear not being “enough.” But here is the thing, I have fear but I don't let it define me! Ok sometimes I do, lol , but I don't let it last more than a few hours! Why am I sharing this?

Because when we share our fears and become vulnerable, we realize we are not alone!

Everyone has some kind of fear. Fear of bugs, fear of the future, fear of being GREAT!

Think of the seed planted in the dark soil. It may feel alone or maybe scared but with water, nutrients, and sunlight (think your family and friends and those willing to hold space), it finds its power within and grows into what it was meant to be!

But the stage of cold and darkness had to happen for it to discover its full potential!

Living your life on purpose is like that. It’s not just hustling harder, waking at 5 a.m., pushing yourself until you cry at night (been there, done that). It’s noticing when fear or sadness arises and asking in that moment what it’s teaching you, and letting it fuel you into a better version of yourself!

As we head into the colder months, don’t suppress what scares you. Instead, look directly at it! Embrace it. Nourish it. Love it!

Then watch it become the energy that moves you upward! (forget about going forward, were goin UP! This is another story to share on the evolution of time. To deep for today!)

Oh, and one last thought, our county has important decisions this November. Personally, I don’t want huge data centers or mega gas stations defining Stafford. Yes I'm afraid... and that fear is why I need to take action. It's easy to complain but what can we do to make change?

I want green space with parks, thoughtful growth, and small businesses that reflect who we are. This is for our children, our future. So let’s hold our supervisors accountable. Ask them questions. Show up. Participate.

Because living on purpose means doing the inner work... and also standing together for the kind of community we want.

With gratitude,

Linda "The Bear" & Staff

P.S. Affirmation of the Month: "Looking back, fear never stayed.. it always became fuel for something greater."
